Wyn Enterprise: Installing on Ubuntu

On Ubuntu, Wyn Enterprise can be installed using .tar.gz file or using apt-get command.

Using apt-get Command

  1. Install AspNetCore 2.1 Runtime library according to the version of your server.
    Refer https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/linux-package-manager/ubuntu18-04/runtime-2.1.9

  2. (this step is optional) Install PostgreSQL and create your own user with password, you can also use the default user 'postgres', and specify a password for it.
If you do not want to install PostgreSQL by yourself, it will be installed automatically when installing Wyn Enterprise. The default username and password are 'postgres'.

    a. Install PostgreSQL.

    sudo apt-get install postgresql

    b. Modify user password.

sudo -u postgres psql -c "ALTER ROLE postgres WITH PASSWORD '{password}'"
  3. Add the package source of Wyn Enterprise.

    sudo bash -c 'echo "deb https://gecfartifacts.blob.core.windows.net/repos/aptrepo/wyn/3.6/en/ /" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/wyn.list'
  4. Add the public key of apt repository of Wyn Enterprise.

    wget -q -O - https://gecfartifacts.blob.core.windows.net/repos/aptrepo/wyn/wyn.enterprise.pubkey | sudo apt-key add -

Update the source address provided in the command in case the location of APT repository is changed.

  1. Update packages list.

    sudo apt-get update
  2. Install the latest version of Wyn Enterprise.

    sudo apt-get install wyn-enterprise
  3. Enter the necessary information required during installation process (press enter to use the default value).

  4. Check the status of firewall. You should add an inbound rule for port 51980 (the default port used by portal) if the server's firewall is active. Refer https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/firewall.html.en.

Using .tar.gz File

  1. Download the installer. (Contact the support team to get the latest download links.)

Note : Wyn Enterprise supports several Linux distributions. You should download a correct installer for your operation system. For example, if you want to install Wyn Enterprise on Ubuntu 18.04, you should download wyn-installer-ubuntu1804.tar.gz.

For different Linux distributions, we have different Wyn Enterprise installation packages. You should select the installation package files as per Linux distributions available.

    • WynEnterprise-centos-3.0.xxxx.0.tar.gz is the installation package for CentOS.
    • WynEnterprise-rhel-3.0.xxxx.0.tar.gz is an installation package for RedHat Enterprise Linux.
    • WynEnterprise-ubuntu1804-3.0.xxxx.0.tar.gz is an installation package for Ubuntu.
  2. Extract files from the archive.
If the downloaded archive's location is /var/tmp/wyn-installer-ubuntu1804.tar.gz, execute the command to extract installer files from the archive as follows:

    mkdir wyninstaller
    tar -xvzf wyn-installer-ubuntu1804.tar.gz -C ./wyninstaller
  3. Run the following installation script.

    cd wyninstaller
    sudo bash wyn-install.sh
  4. Once the installation is finished, the Wyn Service will start automatically.
You can access the portal via http://localhost:51980/ or http://www.yourdomain.com:51980.
If the license is not registered yet, the portal will prompt to enter the license key. Follow the dialog prompt to get a trial license key.
